The Coral Triangle is the only place on Earth that rivals the biodiversity of the Amazon Rainforest in both species richness and environmental importance. Andrew Miners and a small team of committed people have achieved the establishment of a marine sanctuary, a "no-take-zone", in one of the world's most bio-diverse reefs.
The Marine Protected Area around Misool now is as large as 200.000 football fields and Misool has helped to create the 46,000 km2 Raja Ampat Shark and Manta Sanctuary. Thanks to this the marine life will get a chance to recover and replenish. The project is financed by the income of his eco-resort and donations.
Every time you chose to stay at an Eco Resort, you directly support conservation initiatives and help providing sustainable employment to local people.
Here you can watch the new film about Andrew Miners and the Misool Eco-Resort.
